FAQ

Wholesale blue lotus questions

Answers about the product, ordering, shipping and the rules buyers should know.

The product

What is blue lotus?

Nymphaea caerulea, the blue water lily, is an aquatic perennial with blue-violet petals around golden-yellow stamens. It is native to Egypt and eastern and southern Africa, and some botanists treat it as Nymphaea nouchali var. caerulea. We supply it dried, as a botanical for business buyers.

Is blue lotus the same as sacred lotus?

No. Blue lotus is a water lily (genus Nymphaea, family Nymphaeaceae). Sacred lotus is Nelumbo nucifera, which belongs to a different family. The two are often confused because both are called lotus, so always check the botanical name on a spec sheet before you buy.

What does the dried product look like?

Deep blue-violet petals with golden-yellow stamens, dry and brittle to the touch. Lot photos and a specification sheet are available on request, and the product page shows supplier sample photos and a short video.

What form do you supply?

Dried blue lotus flower, packed loose in sealed food-grade poly bags in sizes from 100 g to 5 kg and above. Ask us if you need a specific format and we will tell you what is available.

How should I store it?

Keep it in a sealed, airtight container in a cool, dry place away from light, ideally 15-25 °C and under 50% humidity. Dried flower kept this way typically stays in good condition for a year or more.

Ordering

What is the minimum order?

Minimums depend on the tier, from small trial lots for shops up to pallet volumes for distributors. Tell us your expected volume and we will quote a minimum that fits.

Do you offer samples?

Yes. Sample quantities are available on request, and approved samples can come with a certificate of analysis. Sample size and shipping cost are confirmed in your quote.

Can I order private label?

Yes. Private-label packs are available on request. Send us your pack sizes and volumes, and we will quote minimums and lead time.

Do you provide certificates of analysis?

Yes, on request. A typical certificate of analysis for a dried botanical covers identity, moisture, microbial counts, heavy metals and pesticide residues.

Where is it sourced?

Nymphaea caerulea is native to Egypt and eastern and southern Africa, and is grown in other warm regions. The country of origin for your lot is stated on the quote and lot document.

How do I request pricing?

Use the inquiry form on the contact page, or call or email us. Tell us your business type, expected monthly volume and where you sell, and we reply within one business day with tiered pricing and sample options.

Shipping and payment

How do you ship?

We ship within the United States with tracking. Carrier, lead time and freight cost are confirmed in your quote.

What are the payment terms?

Payment terms are set per account. New accounts typically prepay, and approved accounts can request net terms.

Legal and compliance

Is blue lotus legal to sell?

Blue lotus is not a federally controlled substance in the US, but the FDA has not approved it as a food additive or dietary supplement ingredient, and some states restrict it. For example, Louisiana prohibits Nymphaea caerulea for human consumption. Rules change, so buyers are responsible for checking the law where they sell. This is general information, not legal advice.

Do you make health claims?

No. We supply the botanical only and do not make health or medical claims.
